Noye's Fludde, a community opera by Benjamin Britten, will be performed twice in the St. Mary of Charity Church
on Saturday 19th November at 6pm and on Sunday 20th at 4pm

This will involve a large cast of volunteers, amateur musicians, professional musicians and schoolchildren from Davington Primary School,
St. Mary of Charity Primary School, Ethelbert Road Primary School and Luddenham Primary School.

Noye's Fludde (Noah's Flood) is an early 15th century mystery play. It was set to music by Benjamin Britten in 1957.
The orchestra calls for a small concertino ensemble of professionals consisting of string quintet, recorder, piano (four hands), organ, and timpani.
The audience, which Britten refers to as the "congregation", is invited to join in by singing along in the three hymns inserted into the original text.

The whole Festival of Fludde is inspired by themes raised in the opera.
